Samuel E. Hamlin Marked 3-3/16" Tall American Pewter Beaker, 1801-1856

A very nice marked short 3-3/16" tall pewter beaker by Samuel E. Hamlin, Jr., Providence Rhode Island, 181-1856. Samuel E. Hamlin, Jr. was the son of Samuel Hamlin of Hartford Connecticut and Providence Rhode Island.

The touch mark ( J-165) is small and typically hard to spot, and is found at the rim (see the similar examples shown in online photographs and held or exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Currier Museum of Art).

In overall very good condition, with some wear exhibited and surface imperfections. An uncommon example. Ex Webster Goodwin collection.
