Produced during the third quarter of the 19th century, these beakers (tumblers as known in the Meriden Britannia catalogs) are infrequently seen these days. This 3" beaker (tumbler) is in very good condition with some slight wear and only a slight ding or two (although hard to see they are shown in the fourth photo).
Meriden Britannia Company was created in 1852 from the smaller shops of earlier pewter and britannia workers like H.C. Wilcox, I.C. Lewis, James A. Frary, William W. Lyman Samuel Simpson, among others.
With a 2" footed base diameter, this 3" tall form is illustrated in the 1867 catalog as No. 115. None are known marked.
