Melville Newport Rhode Island Pewter Geometric Handle Porringer, ca. 1780

An excellent condition triangular geometric handle porringer with the distinctive 'rib' Melville bracket. The bowl is 5-3/8" in diameter and has a terrific linen mark. Unmarked, but marked examples are known with either David Melville's (1755-1793) rectangle initial DM touch (J-211) or the DM initial and anchor touch (J-215).

A very scarce porringer.
