Durie of Aberdeen Pewter Hoof Snuff Mull, ca. 1800



Unusual Peter Durie Hoof Snuff Mull late 18th or early 19th century. Touchmark is underneath the lid.


Lid closes and snaps shut nicely. Hinge intact and works well. See Cotterell Old Pewter, Plate LXV, Illustrations a and b for similar examples.


There is the usual wear, uncleaned condition and some separation of the hoof from the metal. Approximately 3-3/8" long, 1-3/4" wide, 7/8" high.
