An excellent 2-11/16" tall pewter gill mug attributed to the Boardman group, 1820-1850. From the Danforth body molds, this has a multi-ribbed base molding that differs from the more usual flared base molding. The solid handle was cast directly to the body.
Also less typical, this mug was likely used as a measure and is stamped with a sealer's mark (a weak H or possibly a double II ) near the upper handle juncture. If an H, this might reference Hartford County, CT.
Aside from a couple of very small dents, this mug is in very good overall condition.
