An impressive three quart marked pewter flagon by Thomas Danforth Boardman and his brother Sherman, made in Hartford Connecticut ca. 1810-1820. The Boardman group made pieces that emulated the best of 18th century designs. Of course, some of the molds used did come from the 18th century, courtesy of Uncle Samuel Danforth. This flagon has a New England church provenance.
Aside from some a few light dents and one scrape, the flagon is in excellent condition. The flagon stands a little over 14 inches tall with finial, and has a 7" base diameter.
