A very good condition pewter sugar bowl by William Will of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, 1764-1798. The bellied bowl was used throughout William's illustrious career, but the round finial and lack of beading suggests pre-revolutionary manufacturer. In conjunction, anecdotal family history also indicates this sugar bowl survived the Hessian soldiers who melted down most of the other pewter into bullets when they lodged overnight in the family home in New Jersey.
