American Pewter Footed Waste or Slop Bowl, ca. 1840

A stately but simplistic styled unmarked slop or waste bowl, probably second quarter of the 19th century. From New England and possibly of Connecticut manufacture, the bowl was found in upstate NY. Note the lack of a flared rim.

Height is 4-1/4", and bowl diameter is 6-1/8". Base diameter is 4-3/8". Nice ringing sound indicating cast construction.

Aside from some usage wear and interior pitting, the bowl is in excellent condition. While probably used for tea waste or as a serving bowl, this can be utilized today for a myriad number of great reasons (including as a candy bowl!).

$150
