An excellent example of a somewhat unusual form beaker by Samuel Danforth of Hartford, Connecticut, working 1795-1816. While most found beakers are in the 5" range, this is the short 3" version.
This 3" tall form has a base diameter of 2-11/16" but with the slight flare has a rim diameter of 2-7/8".
This uncommon beaker is in overall excellent condition, with some expected wear. Touchmark (J-107 initialed eagle plus the X quality mark), despite the X or + shaped scratch on the base, is nearly as struck and turnings are evident on the base.
