American Pewter-Garvan and Other Collections at Yale
American and English Pewter at the Yale University Art Gallery - 2 volume set
This is the 2 volume set of the Yale Collection of pewter. The 1965 first volume starts with the collected gift of Francis P.
Garvan in memory of his wife Mabel Brady Garvan, among others, with the second volume a 1985 supplementary checklist
of the expanded collection. The first volume is Introduced by Graham Hood, at the time the Associate Curator of the Garvan
and Related Collections of American Art, while the second volume was put together by David L. Barquist, the Associate
Curator of American Decorative Arts. The volumes have photographs and descriptions of many American pewter and
English forms, including a rare flagon by Henry Will, a tankard by John Bassett and a cream jug by John Will.
Showing some outside wear, both volumes are in overall very good condition.
