Thomas Danforth III 7-3/4" American Pewter Plate, ca. 1810

Avery good 7-3/4" plate by Thomas Danforth III of Rocky Hill Connecticut and Philadelphia Pennsylvania, 1777-1820.
Marked with his circular right-facing eagle initialed mark (J-119) and his name Phildelphia touch. TD III worked in both
Connecticut as well as Philadelphia Pennsylvania, and this plate was obviously made during his Philadelphia days.
While in Connecticut, TD III trained several 19th pewterers, including Ashbil Griswold and Samuel Kilbourne.

A very good overall condition plate with good touchmarks. Note the decorative lack of finishing around the booge/rim.
Ex Breininger collection.
